Kirstenbosch

It is a sprawling botanical garden spread around 1300 acres of land. It slopes down from the Table Mountain through the Cape Town’s leafy suburbs in the southern region. The Tree Canopy Walkway, also known as the Tree Snake or the Boomslang, is a must-visit as you get to see the best-elevated spot for bird-watching and selfie-snapping. Tourists should also visit the protea garden here, which is dedicated to the national flower of South Africa.

Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art

This museum has the largest collection of African art. London-based architect Thomas Heatherwick built it from an abandoned grain silo to a sprawling stretch of 80 galleries. You can check out the famous Afro-futurist goggles by Cyrus Kabiru or the oil portrait by the Kehinde Wiley. There are also some amazing cowhide sculptures by Nandipha Mntambo.

Boulders Beach

This sandy shoreline on the Cape Peninsula is outlined by rocky outcrops and is often hit by wild waves. Although you cannot go there to lounge or swim, the view is spectacular. You can enjoy a coastal walk on this beach. If you are lucky, you get to spot some African penguins here.

Robben Island

This famous island has the prison where Nelson Mandela spent 27 years of his life. This place is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This place attracts the tourists because of its horrific history. Visitors can come here on pre-booked tours.

Neighborhoods Markets

This is a popular Saturday food market in Cape Town right in the center of Woodstock’s Biscuit Mill development. It is now home to many small businesses. You get to enjoy a huge variety of South Africa’s cuisine and some delicious craft beer and coffee.

Kalk Bay

This is a small suburb with a lovely array of small shops next to its seafront. The café scene is vibrant and bustling. It is a leisurely place to spend an afternoon.
