African countries are lagging behind most of the world. The world is moving ahead in every way. Countries have world-class infrastructure, technology, and education. Most of the African countries have none of the above. So what is that is keeping these countries from developing.
African Countries; The Story Of An Underdeveloped continent
Almost 16 countries of Africa are so much in debt that there is no scope of their development. Countries like the UK invested manifold in countries like Ethiopia and Nigeria. The then prime minister Tony Blair formed a committee that would find out what fund is getting used. Here’s what was found. The funds were misused owing to corruption and mismanagement. The countries would never come out of the deadlock unless they partnered with developed nations to pull them out of the mess. Blair forgave the debt. He not only forgave the debt, but he also doubled the assistance.
It helped Nigeria, but it still could not uplift the standard of the country. This is because of the corruption and uneducated people of the country. It also included a bad and unstable government. According to the United Nations, African countries live in less than a dollar per day. This is way too less even for an underdeveloped country. Children die of hunger and malnutrition. People pay a fortune to buy daily need things and medicines. Most of them die due to lack of medical assistance. The infant mortality rate is very high as compared to the rest of the world. Unemployment has lead to corruption in the country. Hunger is the mother of all crime. In these African countries, this phrase holds.
The Ever-Increasing Debt
The debt is increasing manifold. The aid that comes from developed countries goes in vain. It never reaches where it should. The mortality rate is high. There is no medical care or education. Poverty and drought-hit these countries now and then. There are no ways to fight these deadly circumstances. People fight over food and children have no future. There is a dire need for helping hands to help these countries. It will take years to pull them out of this poverty.
Developed countries like the US and the UK are giving financial aid consistently. They are monitoring the flow of funds. They are leaving no stone unturned to see that the fund is used for the welfare of the people. however, the facts come to light that the cash flows out of the countries. It drains most of the aid leaving people to suffer in poverty. But, even they are unable to help them. Only when the people of these countries will try to help themselves, there will be a way out. At the end of the day, it is the people who decide, what they want from their life.
